Hello Opry Fans! Can you believe it’s been 10 years since the first Sopchoppy Opry!
Just goes to prove the old adage, ‘time flies when you’re having fun’! We’re starting the anniversary celebration early this year! To mark the Opry’s first decade of classic country, bluegrass and Gospel music, a very special ‘extra’ show has been added for the occasion! On Saturday evening July 17 – 7 pm in historic Sopchoppy High School Auditorium, Margo Anderson, a brilliant young talent will present a Tribute to Patsy Cline. Margo has played to enthusiastic audiences through out the country and critics are calling her ‘Patsy Cline reincarnate’. Tickets are $10 and going fast! Call early and make reservations, 962-3711.
Born Virginia Paterson Hensley, Patsy Cline entered the country music scene in the late 1950’s and immediately began an ascension into stardom that produced some of country music’s best loved and most enduring ballads. In a short career that ended tragically at the age of 30, Patsy Cline’s string of hits made her a legend immortalized by millions of fans. And now her timeless songs are appreciated by a new generation thanks to Margo Anderson! In her ‘Tribute to Patsy Cline’, Margo sings ‘Crazy’, ‘I Go Out Walking After Midnight’, ‘If you’ve Got Leavin’ On Your Mind’, along with many others representing periods in the star’s turbulent personal life, performed around twelve beautiful costume changes with provoking dialog interspersed. Margo is accompanied by one of the South’s premier classic country bands, Wayne Martin and Country Gold! Country Gold, renowned for it’s classic country sound, features Wayne Martin, a nationally recognized fiddle player and steel guitarist extraordinaire, Jimmy Powell along with a host of other great musicians.
This is going to be a fantastic evening! Call 962-3711 and get your tickets! Margo Anderson’s Tribute to Patsy Cline with music by Country Gold is entertainment the whole family can enjoy, all for just $10! And remember, every dollar you spend at the Opry helps to restore historic Sopchoppy High School!
Come early on show date and enjoy an entrée, sandwich and dessert in the Opry Café before the show. Ticket office and Café open at 5:30 pm on show date. There’s plenty of convenient parking and all facilities are fully handicap accessible.
We look forward to seeing you at the Sopchoppy Opry,
July 17 – 7 pm!
