Happy New Year, Sopchoppy Opry Fans! Welcome to 2011 and another great year at the Opry! This will be our best ever!
Look who’s coming to our first 2011 ‘special’ Opry, January 15 – 7 pm in historic Sopchoppy High School Auditorium! It’s the Royal Garden Dixieland Band! Here’s your invitation to hear the finest Dixieland music this side of heaven! The Royal Garden Dixieland Band is something different… something special at the Sopchoppy Opry…! It’s Dixieland Jazz straight from New Orleans, satisfying as a muffaletta, tasty as gumbo…! And just like being right on Bourbon Street! This eight-piece band includes a variety of instruments and a ‘red hot Mama’ vocalist! In the band’s rich repertoire of music are the great ‘oldies’ Basin Street Blues and When the Saints Go Marching In along with many others sure to please every Dixieland fan and keep them toes ‘tappin’for the whole two-hour show! Bring the whole family for an evening of classic New Orleans style music and fun! Dress is casual. Come early and dine in the Opry Café. There’s an entrée, BBQ pork sandwiches, hot dogs and the world’s best homemade desserts to enjoy! Box office and Café open at 5:30 pm on show date. All facilities fully handicapped accessible and parking is convenient and secure. Groups are welcome! Call 962-3711 for tickets. Net proceeds from all shows are used to restore historic Sopchoppy High School, a National Register of Historic Places sight.
