The Pink Shoelaces will Headline May Sopchoppy Opry

Hey Fans!  Our Saturday, May 30 Sopchoppy Opry is the one we’ve been waiting for!  It’s the Pink Shoelaces!  The Shoelaces have made two previous appearances on the Opry as South Bound’s guest and each time brought huge accolades!  You’ve asked that the band be invited back for a full hour of music!  Here are the Pink Shoelaces!  Call now for tickets, 962-3711!

pink shoelaces (latest).gifFrom a brother/sister duo, the Pink Shoelaces (PSL) has grown to a five piece band!  And wow what a talented group!  Julian “Jay” Egler, 18, is the band’s lead guitarist and sister Shannon, ‘almost 15’ plays rhythm guitar and shares vocal duties with brother Jay; Charlotte Lewis alternates between fiddle and mandolin; Patrick Lima is the band’s percussionist and veteran musician Tony Rizzo rounds out the band’s unique sound with the electric bass.  Each member brings to the PSL unique skills and talent that creates a refreshing, youthful sound sure to please every fan!

Jay’s impressive guitar skills provide the foundation for the PSL sound!  He got his first guitar at the age of 12 along with a book of the top 100 rock ‘n’ roll songs of the time.  Soon, he was playing guitar beyond his years and discovered that he could write (songs) as well!  He now has to his writing credit songs that range in style from driving rock to beautiful ballads.

Shannon, beautiful and talented, was barely 8 when she began wowing audiences all over and has become a favorite, especially here in Wakulla and Tallahassee!  Shannon’s voice, musical repertoire and fan base has continued to grow and she is frequently invited to sing the national anthem at various community events!

{sidebar id=1}Both Jay and Shannon are amazing vocalists and their harmonies are magic!  Over Spring Break, they recorded Jay’s beautiful new song ‘Love Takes Two’ and Shannon’s praise song, ‘Thank God’ in Nashville.  The PSL will distribute free copies of the two recordings at the Opry on May 30!

Drummer Patrick ‘Big Pat’ Lima is a close friend of Jay’s and next door neighbor.  Early in their teens the two started a 5 piece band called ‘Radio Active Material’ (RAM).  When the PSL needed a larger sound, Patrick was the natural choice for drum action.  He keeps the perfect rhythm and style from tunes ‘Blue’ to “Pretty Woman’.

Charlotte Lewis, 16, adds some fancy fiddlin’ to the PSL sound!  She is a champion fiddle player who competes in classical and bluegrass competitions throughout Florida!

Tony Rizzo, the one and only adult in the group adds some hot bass licks to the PSL sound!  Tony has played drums for 30+ years in high profile bands from California to Florida.  “I enjoy the energy that comes with a teen band that also maintains a high degree of musical proficiency and professionalism”, says Tony.

Together, these 5 talented musicians make up the Pink Shoelaces!  This is a special show because Jay and Patrick will graduate from Wakulla High the same weekend.  Amidst the diplomas, celebrations and hoopla, they will be on the historic Sopchoppy Opry Stage to share the moment (and music) with Opry fans!

judy foster 125.gifAlso appearing is the lovely and talented Ms. Judy Foster!  Judy has been a member of the Opry for several years and a regular performer on the show.  She always entertains in grand style with her renditions of the great country classics!

Along with Judy Foster on the Southbound Band segment of the show, veteran musicians, steel guitarist extraordinaire, Jimmy Powell along with James Ray, rhythm guitar/vocals and Opry newcomer Denny Myrick will be performing their musical magic!

Folk’s it’s the Pink Shoelaces, Judy Foster, Jimmy Powell, James Ray and Denny Myrick!  All this and Southbound Band too!  Call and reserve your tickets, 962-3711. This is going to be one terrific show!

Come early and enjoy delicious food and desserts from the Opry Concessions!  Show time is 7 pm.  The ticket office and concessions open at 5:30 pm on show date.

We look forward to seeing you
at the Sopchoppy Opry May 30!
Come out and enjoy some great music!
