The youth invasion at the Sopchoppy Opry's April 29 'Stars of Tommorrow' show was a huge success! The Pink Shoelaces, Jay & Shannon Egler, entertained the 'standing room only' crowd with a fantastic show that included a blend of favorite country and rock & roll tunes. The duo's rendition of the Roy Orbison classic, 'Pretty Woman' got toes tapping and 'Sweet Home Alabama', brought the house down! The Opry audience showed its appreciation to the young performers with a standing ovation!

Blountstown's Rivertown Girls followed with a rich helping of bluegrass music. 'We were really entertained tonight!', 'We gotta gets these kidsback soon!', My! my!, what talented young people!' and 'It's so wonderful to see young people like these perfoming on the Opry!' were just a few of the positive comments expressed by Opry fans as they left the auditorium.
After the show, The Shoelaces and Rivertown Girls got acquainted in a private jam session, met with members of the audience, signed autographs and talked about their experiences and future plans.
Mac McWaters, talent coordinator for the Opry, was obviously very pleased as well. Said McWaters, "Another fantastic show! The Shoelaces and Rivertown Girls did a super job. I know their future will be filled with many successes. We look forward to having them back on the Opry!"
