Seeing You Again (by Cheryl J. Long)

Seeing You Again

Seeing you again upset the ground under me

I almost fell when it rose and cracked

I caught each dripping word from you

Watering my drying memory

Loneliness that sat shivering but hidden

Burst out in hot pain

Walking away from you tore the skin from my body

My laughter was a bandage

To keep my heart from spilling out

And forming a sunset at my feet
