Meet Jay and Shannon of Pink Shoelaces, a brother/sister duo from Crawfordville.  The vocal talent, harmonization, and musicianship transcend this duo’s youthfulness – No Kidding!  Pink Shoelaces will be performing from 11:00 to 11:30 A.M. at the St. Patrick’s Day Festival in Hudson Park on March 11.

Jay plays lead guitar and is also an excellent singer/songwriter providing strong lead vocals as well as harmonies with Shannon.  Four of his original songs have been copyrighted and recorded.  Shannon is primarily a vocalist though she also backs up Jay on keyboard and bass guitar.  When singing Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On,” she frequently brings tears to the eyes of listeners, and follows up by rousing the audience with Gretchen Wilson’s “Red Neck Woman!”  Besides solos, Shannon provides vocal harmonies with Jay on a wide range of tunes from the Beatles to Brad Paisley.

Both have been active with local teen band, “RadioActiveMaterial (RAM)” for the past year.  (RAM is still active and Jay plays lead guitar and sings lead vocals with RAM).  As part of RAM, Jay and Shannon have performed at some of north Florida’s most prestigious festivals and venues including:

American Cancer Society Cattle Baron’s Ball

Valentine’s Day Festival - Crawfordville
