Many of you are aware of our vision and the journey of From The Heart Music Hour, but some of you are not.  Below is a short story of our ongoing journey.

For the last 3 to 4 years we have been pursuing different platforms to maximize the exposure of our songwriters here in the Southeast US, and in particular North Florida.  From The Heart Music Hour originated as a weekly radio show which aired from April 2008 to October 2009.  Each week we featured our local songwriters’ recordings and included interviews to tell “the story.”  In conjunction with the radio show, we also organized From The Heart Music Hour “Live” at different venues showcasing some of the songwriters who appeared on our radio show.  In late 2009, WFSU-TV gave us the opportunity to move our vision into television.  We are now going into our fourth episode and it will broadcast on WFSU in the Fall of 2011.  Understanding our vision, WFSU has graciously given us two hours of broadcast time in order for us to produce a documentary style music program that we had always aimed to do.  This enables us to give our television audience “a story” along with the performances of the songwriters in and from our region.

We are forever grateful to all the songwriters, sponsors and ticket buyers who have supported our vision all along the way.  We also thank Chuck Cannon, Lari White, Steve Leslie and Billy Dean (all of whom have deep roots in our area) for lending their support and interest to our vision.  We hope this musical journey continues to showcase the immense talent found in this place that we all call home.
