Art for Animals to Benefit the Efforts of Preserving Florida's Wildlife

Aqua-1-150Saturday, July 10, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., artists from around the Capitol City will be adorning the walls of Chez Pierre with their hand-crafted masterpieces to benefit the conservation of Florida’s wildlife.

One hundred percent of all sales will be divided among:  the Gulf Specimen Marine Lab, Florida Wild Mammal Association, and the Wildlife Foundation of Florida.  All three organizations are registered 501(c)3 non-profits.

As a generous showing of support for the efforts being put forth to preserve Florida’s precious ecosystem, Chez Pierre has generously donated the use of their upstairs facilities, staff and accotraments  for this event.  (We could not do this without them!)

The event will feature select spirits, tasty treats, and beautiful works of art from local artists who have agreed to donate 100% of the proceeds from the evening’s art sales.  A few of these artists include Tracie Kelly, Mershell Sherman, Julian Mathis, Pattie Maney, and many more to come!!!

Additionally, as part of their mission to promote the importance of environmental conservation, Dr. Anne Rudloe and her husband, Jack, Managing Directors of the Gulf Specimen Marine Lab, have graciously agreed to share with guests a variety of small sea creatures who call the waters of Florida home.  Currently, in light of the tragedy unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico, the Rudloes are working to create an in-house system for rearing local marine species until they can be safely reintroduced into non-polluted waters; a project they have appropriately dubbed, “Operation Noah’s Ark.”
