The exhibit will run from March 5 to March 17. Hours are daily 1-4 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 2 PM. Admission is free. The exhibit overlaps with the annual Camp Gordon Johnston Days Reunion March 9, 10, and 11 in Carrabelle. The artworks are from the collections of Perry and Mimi Shaw and Kelly Bowen, both from Tallahassee.
About the artist:
Nadia Werbitsky was born in Russia in 1922. When the Germans invaded Russia during World War II, Nadia and her mother and sister were sent to various labor camps. After liberation, Nadia studied art, principally in Dusseldorf, Germany. She emigrated to Canada, then to the United States, eventually settling in Tallahassee. She loved to visit Carrabelle where she had dear friends.
Nadia's paintings have been shown internationally. They depict scenes from Russian life and history with some reference to the Holocaust.
The Carrabelle Artists Association is honored to host this important exhibit. If you would like further information please contact: Joe Kotzman at 697-4381 or joekotzman@yahoo.com
