Crawfordville United Methodist Church Upcoming Events

{sidebar id=1}The United Methodist Women of Crawfordville UMC met on Tuesday, September 11 at 10:00 a.m. to plan activities for the coming year.  The night circle meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month in members homes, and the morning circle will be meeting this year at 10:30 a.m., 2nd Monday (not in Sept) in the fellowship hall.

Please mark  you calendars for Tuesday, October 16 --  that will be the annual Fall Luncheon for the United Methodist Women of Wakulla/Woodville.  The program will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary, followed by lunch in the fellowship hall.  We'll be looking forward to seeing you in Crawfordville.

We will have lunch at Ochlockonee Bay UMC in March, and Sopchoppy UMC in May.

Another date for your calendars.... The Cluster Council will be sponsoring a community Thanksgiving Service on  Sunday evening, November 18, at Crawfordville United Methodist Church.  The time will be announced at a later date.

One more thing:  Wakulla Community Theater performs  "Messiah" every third year, and 2007 is it.  Singers from all over Wakulla County are invited to participate.  Rehearsals and performance are at Crawfordville United Methodist Church (CUMC) and in past years the choir loft has been filled -- a thrilling thing to sing in a choir that large.

Watch for announcements concerning the start-up date and plan to attend the concert on Sunday, December 16 at 3:00 p.m. at CUMC.

Adult Sunday School Class to Begin

You are invited and encouraged to participate in one of the greatest ministries of our church.  SUNDAY SCHOOL -- the place where hearts are knit together, where life's meaning becomes clear through the study of the Word, where the pieces of the puzzle begin to fit together.

On Sunday, September 16, the Circuit Riders Class  (adults) of Crawfordville United Methodist Church will begin a six week study of prayer under the leadership of Bobby Smith.  Alfred Lord Tennyson said "More things are wrought by prayer than this world has ever dreamed of."  For some more great quotes on prayer check this website:  http://www.dailycelebrations.com/pray.htm .  It really can make a difference in your life :o)

Sunday School begins at 9:45 with fellowship time and the singing of some great praise and worship music.  We hope to see you at Crawfordville UMC this Sunday -- try it, you'll like it!

Two other classes are offered for adults -- Young at Heart -- Sr. Adults, traditional bible study, rotating teachers, and Blessed & Stressed  young  adults, family career & college, led by Louis Hernandez.  And of course, there are classes for your children.

REMINDER:  The Sunday School is sponsoring a family outing this Sunday 9/16.  Immediately after church we will leave for CC's Pizza in Tallahassee for lunch then on to the bowling alley for an afternoon of fun.  This is a family outing and all are invited, but it is necessary to register by contacting Brenda Hutto, 926-6278, huttob@wakulla.k12.fl.us  or just call the church office, 926-7209 and leave a message.

Hope to see you Sunday!   I Thes. 5:17

- Mary Updegraff
