FAMU Small Business Development Center Offering Free Courses in Construction Management  

{sidebar id=1}Did you know that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) committed $112,764,411 in construction and related projects to small and/or minority and women-owned firms last year?  Did you get your share of FDOT work?  If not, you are in luck!  The Construction Management Development Program (CMDP) certification classes are starting again.  These classes will  provide Small/Disadvantaged Business Enterprises with comprehensive instruction in the areas of business administration, business operations and project management for construction and related industries.  The management and technical skills of your business will be enhanced through classroom instruction and individualized counseling.  Additionally, several of the courses that are offered provide continuing education credit for licensed contractors in Florida.

The classes are free of charge; the textbooks carry a charge of either $25 or $35 depending on the class.  There are six (6) classes altogether.  Two (2) classes require textbooks at a cost of $25 each and the other four (4) classes require textbooks at a cost of $35 each.  The course participants keep their textbooks as reference guides (tools).
