Monica Thorpe to Debut at Backwoods Bistro 

Monica Thorpe will make her debut appearance at the Backwoods Bistro in Sopchoppy on Saturday, December 6, 2008 from 7 to 8:30 pm.  Her song repertoire will include Christmas favorites and other popular music by Sugarland, American Idol winner Jordan Sparks, Smashing Pumpkins, Queen and many others.

Monica is a 2008 graduate of Wakulla High School.  She is currently attending Tallahassee Community College on scholarship from the Wakulla Boosters Association, Wakulla County Business and Professional Women’s Association, Dave Burns Music Memorial Scholarship and the Stubbs’ Music Scholarship Foundation and TCC Scholarship Foundation.  Monica plans to complete an Associate of Arts degree at TCC and transfer to a university to work towards a degree in music performance. 

Since graduating from Wakulla High, Monica has continued performing regularly.  She recently  performed at TCC’s Turner Auditorium for the Stubbs’ Music Foundation Scholarship Awards Ceremony.  Monica  played guitar and sang her own rendition of “Once Upon a Time” by Billy Corgan, that brought praise by many in attendance.

Monica invites her family, friends and fans, to come join her for a night of  Christmas and other music and fantastic dining at the Backwoods Bistro in Sopchoppy.
