Wakulla Native Angella Lee will Perform in Hollywood
The American Society of Young Musicians (AYSM) presents its 4th Annual Hollywood Live Music Showcase on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Celebrity Centre International in Hollywood CA. Hollywood Live showcase is designed to give fresh, up-and-coming Artists/Groups a platform to showcase their talent in front of some of the biggest executives in the music industry. This year with an overwhelming response from artists, groups and bands from across America, the executive committee of the national ASYM has chosen the participants for the Hollywood Live Music Showcase.
The selected participants are: Sheri Pedigo (Burbank, CA), Chadwick (Sarasota, FL), Rochelle Townsend (Van Nuys, CA), Selma-I (Brooklyn, NY), Lawrence Beamen (Walnut Creek, CA), Beau Davidson Band (Los Angeles, CA), John Randall (Sarasota, FL), Evren Ozan (Laguna Beach, CA), Sophia Inesta (Queens,NY), Alvin Green (Austin, TX), Andie Maxie (La Puente, CA), Angella Lee (Tallahassee, FL), Brandon Nadal (Osprey, FL), Lori Mueller (Redondo Beach, CA), Rachel Nemetz (West Hollywood, CA), Matt Vega (Tampa, FL), Donny B. Lord (Beverly Hills, CA), Kaitee Page (Loudonville, NY), The Sirens (Los Angeles, CA), and Ron Wimberly (Miami, FL). Our producers and show staff are sure this year’s line-up will be one of the best shows in the history of Hollywood Live!
The ASYM is a national non-profit, organization comprised of musicians, music students and executives within the music and entertainment community who share a commitment to the enrichment and advancement of young musicians across America. It is the responsibility of the ASYM to mentor, benefit and raise a greater consciousness and advocacy for the enrichment and support of America's young aspiring musicians, which in turn keeps their road to success and longevity clear of mis-education, substance and socioeconomic limitations. The organization is in its 15th year of providing partial scholarships to a number of deserving students at accredited music programs and schools. The ASYM is comprised of some 1500 plus members, providing financial assistance to a number of up-and-coming artists. It's wonderful to see one of Wakulla County's very own spreading her wings to fly. ANGELLA LEE, the daughter of Velt Williams and Dorothy Harvey Ford, has spoken of the importance of following her dream for as long as she can remember. And now, opportunity has presented itself!
The Wakulla High Alumni graduated as Senior Class President in 1999. While at Wakulla High she also participated in the Marching Band, Varsity Basketball, Track, Harambe, Environmental Club, FBLA, Sinfonia, and was Yearbook Editor during her Senior year. She was also an exchange student, a member of the Homecoming Court, and was voted ‘Most Likely to Succeed’. Lee went on to further her education at the University of Florida, and later transferred to Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University where she graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and a minor in Criminal Justice. She is currently employed as Chief Financial Officer of Innovative Health Care Management Services, Inc. located in Tallahassee, Florida.
ANGELLA LEE grew up nurturing an amazing gift of writing and singing. She first began singing in the church choir at the age of three and wrote her first song at the age of eleven. She was a member of the Wakulla High Girls' Symphony and would often share her words of inspiration in the school talent shows and at local events with a vision that one day her soulfully rich sound would be heard around the world. She has shared the stage with such compelling artists as: DeWayne Harvey & Unrestrained Praise, Donnie McClurkin, Shirley Caesar, Yolanda Adams, Vickie Winans, Kirk Franklin, and many others. This 26-year-old has a dream that is bigger than anyone could ever imagine, a heart strong enough to withstand the storms and the endurance to follow through.
After overcoming several life changing milestones, ANGELLA LEE has come to the realization that now is not the time to give up on her dreams. She desires to share her story with the world through music, encouraging and uplifting spirits everywhere. She is working toward the release of her first album entitled "If You Believe" which will soon be available in stores. The album is full of lyrics that talk about the indepth trials she has conquered as well as the many ways she has grown from them. ANGELLA LEE'S lyrical sounds of truth WILL echo awareness, hope and strength in lives for many generations to come.
