Devin Foret returned from deployment to his hometown of Cairo, Georgia on Sunday, July 22, 2012 where later that day he married his childhood sweetheart, Emily Marie Davis, from Crawfordville, Florida.

Both elegantly attired, he stood tall in a sharp dress blue military uniform and she in a candlelight dress of matte satin asymmetrically tucked with beaded appliques.  A veil of soft tulle gently framed her sparkling brown eyes, radiant smile, and silky raven hair.  She carried a bouquet of assorted white blossoms tied in navy blue grosgrain ribbon monogrammed in the shade of her blue shoes.

The wedding was poolside at Devin’s grandmother’s house, under a generous canopy of white tulle anchored by large potted ferns and ivy.  In her family’s presence and with their blessing, Rev. McDonald performed the Marriage Ceremony for his grandson.

Now residing in Oceanside, California, their cross country trip included a celebration with Devin’s family in Louisiana.  While deployed and with his mother’s help, Devin formally proposed to Emily immediately following her 2012 graduation from Wakulla County High School.  She will continue her education beginning in January 2013.  Devin graduated Cairo High School in 2007 and Southwest Georgia Technical College in 2009.  He serves in the United States Marine Corp.

Emily’s parents are Susan Purvis and Patrick Davis, and her paternal grandparents are Max and Doris Davis, all of Crawfordville.  Devin’s parents are Michelle Blanchette of Cairo and Scott Foret of Raceland, Louisiana.  His maternal grandparents are the Rev. Wayne and Vera McDonald.  Emily and Devin’s attendants were Macy Wytaske and Thurman Sadler, also of Cairo.
