In Memory of Nathaniel Walker Sanders, Jr.

Nathaniel Walker Sanders, Jr., 81, of Sopchoppy, Florida, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side, February 17, 2008, after a short battle with cancer.  He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Tillie Thompson Sanders ("Miss Tillie").  A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Harvey-Young Funeral Home(850-926-3333).

Mr. Sanders was born in Wakulla County, Florida on February 5, 1927, in Curtis Mills.  A life long resident of Wakulla County, he was a veteran of WWII, where he served in the Navy aboard the USS Power.  He will be remembered for his love of "Miss Tillie", his children and grandchildren.  Mr. Nat spent his life working building roads and highways.  He passed his knowledge of the Wakulla woods and rivers through to his children and grandchildren.  Known by numerous friends and family as a "good man and friend" he will be missed by all whose lives he touched. 

He is also survived by his three children:  son Reggie Sanders and his daughters Karen Sanders and Rhonda Brach (and husband Mark); five grandchildren:  granddaughters Natalie Keckler (and husband Wade), Diana Terry (and husband David), and Sheyenne Branch, and grandsons Jason Sanders and Ethan Branch.  He had multiple great-grandchildren and many brothers and sisters.

Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his son Buckshot Sanders, his granddaughter Jessica Sanders, and his grandson Lance Nathaniel Brock.
