In Memory of Charles Albert Millender, Sr.
Charles Albert Millender, Sr., 77, of Carrabelle, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in Carrabelle. He was a retired Road Crew Supervisor with the Department of Transportation.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Carrabelle United Methodist Church in Carrabelle.
Mr. Millender was a lifelong resident of Carrabelle. He was a member of Carrabelle United Methodist Church, and was Mayor of Carrabelle for 14 years. He loved to fish, loved to be on the water and loved his family. He was known as "Candyman" of Carrabelle. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by two sons: Charles Albert Millender, Jr. and wife Tessie of Carrabelle and Bill Millender and wife Donna of Eastpoint; a daughter: Cheryl Glass and husband Donny of Carrabelle; a sister: Joyce Crum of Carrabelle; two brothers: Cecil Millender and Bobby Millender and wife Rita of Carrabelle; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Cherry Millender.
