Holiday Open House to be Held at Wakulla County Courthouse 

~ Open House to be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4th, 2007 at the Wakulla County Courthouse ~

{sidebar id=3}At 2:30 p.m., September 5, 1949, the present Courthouse was dedicated to the administration of justice and the people of Wakulla County.  There was a ceremony, followed by an open house for citizens to tour the new facility.  In 1991, an addition was added to the courthouse, and it was also accompanied by an open house, held July 11, 1992, at 10 a.m.

In the next several months, we will begin a Courthouse renovation/addition project to our existing structure.  It will not radically alter the current courthouse facility, but it will be different when completed; so we wanted to invite each of you to come see us before this project is started.  We have many things still intact from the original Courthouse project, and even have many items on display that represent County activities from the old wooden courthouse, which is also undergoing its own historic renovation project. 

We will be hosting an Open House from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4th, 2007 at the Wakulla County Courthouse.  If you can swing by, we will have light refreshments, holiday music, tours, and explanations of what we do in various departments.  The Clerk’s office will even give away forms for those who might be interested in a civil or recording form we otherwise charge for during the normal course of business.  We will be showcasing the current facility, which is in the best shape it has been in the last several years.  We also plan to display information on improvements coming in the long awaited addition/renovation project.

Last, but not least, we will have a new batch of local student artwork on display in our hallways.  The public is invited, including well behaved children who may enjoy the holiday decorations.  We look forward to seeing you and your family for this informal event.  If you have questions or concerns about this event you may call Clerk Administration at 926-0342.
