County Offices in Wakulla County will be Closed Friday, August 22 Due to Tropical Storm Fay
Upon the recommendation of Emergency Management Director Scott Nelson, and in accordance with all applicable state laws and county ordinances, Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners Vice Chairman George Green today declared a local state of emergency for Wakulla County in anticipation of the arrival of Tropical Storm Fay. This event is expected to drop significant amounts of rain through the entire day tomorrow in our area. Localized flooding, gusty winds and intermittent power outages are to be expected.
As a result, most county offices in Wakulla County will be closed Friday, August 22, due to inclement weather expected by the arrival of Tropical Storm Fay. All offices will resume normal operation on Monday morning, August 25.
The following offices will remain open:
Supervisor of Elections Office (for early voting purposes):
Wakulla County Sheriff's Office
Fire Departments
Emergency Management Services (ambulance, etc.)
Office of Public Works
First Responders will also be on call.
