Celebration and Commemoration Update
as of 11/28/05

The celebration commemorating the 50th anniversary of Rosa Parks heroic act is continuing to take shape!
The event will be held on December 1, 2005 from 11:45 AM until 1:30 PM in downtown Tallahassee.
The celebration will begin at First Presbyterian Church at 110 North Adams Street, and will continue on at C.K. Steele Plaza at 111 West Tennessee Street. Pastor Brant Copeland of First Presbyterian Church, Mayor John Marks, State Representatives Curtis Richardson and Loranne Ausley, Leon County Commissioner Bill Proctor, Mr. Ron Garrison of Star-Metro and Ms. Althemese Barnes will all be involved in the celebration.
The FAMU Marching 100 will lead the attendees from the First Presbyterian Church to the Star Metro bus plaza.
Star Metro has agreed to waive bus fares during the entire day on Thursday, December 1, as well.
There will be adult and children's choirs and other performances to enhance the celebration.
We are currently seeking corporate sponsors to help defray the costs of the event. Please feel free to call me @ (850) 544-0675, or email me @ stnorapastorsims@earthlink.net if you are interested in helping or being involved in any way.
Thank you,
Pastor Stanley B. Sims, Sr.
Chairman, Rosa Parks Committee
