Be a Part of "Hands Across the Sand" at Shell Point Beach
Hands Across the Sand Rally
Shell Point Beach
Rain or shine
Saturday, February 13, 2010
1:00 p.m.
Join us in creating what could become the largest public gathering in the history of our state.
On Saturday, February 13, 2010 the Citizens of Florida will have an opportunity to show their opposition to oil drilling as close as 3 to 10 miles off our coast.
This rally is not about politics; it is about protection of our shoreline, our tourism, our valuable properties and our way of life. Let us share our passion for protecting our waterways and beaches from the devastating effects of oil drilling.
At 1:00 PM we will organize at Shell Point Beach. At 1:30 PM we will stand together or hold hands forming lines in the sand against oil drilling in our coastal waters.
This event is being held at several beaches all across the state. We will have aerial photography taken of our 'Hands Across the Beach' and are coordinating the timing of this event.
