On Thursday, October 7, 2010 the Wakulla Coastal Optimist Club will be holding its Fourth Annual Fashion Extravaganza at the Wakulla County Senior Citizen’s Center.   The event will include a social time starting at 6:30 p.m., with the actual fashion show beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Each year this fabulous event is held to raise money for two educational scholarships that are awarded to selected Wakulla High School students at their annual scholarship awards ceremony.  

With the help and administration of these scholarships by the Wakulla County Academic Boosters, the Optimist Club is able to assist local students in their higher education.  Every year the Optimist Club is committed to increasing the endowment for these scholarships so that the monetary award to the student can be more and can be an even greater help.

As an Optimist Club member, the goal is to develop optimism as a philosophy of life utilizing the tenets of the Optimist Creed; to promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs; to inspire respect for law; to aid and encourage the development of youth in the belief that the giving of one’s self in service to others will advance the well-being of humankind, community and the world; and to bring happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.

This year we are requesting for businesses to purchase a table of six for $250.00.  Each table sponsor will receive six tickets to the event and advertising.  Individual tickets are on sale for $30 per person.  These tickets include a stuffed pork loin dinner with salad and a dessert.
