Summer Food Service Program Provides Free Meals to Kids in Wakulla County
Over a million children from low-income homes in Florida receive free or reduced-price meals during the school year, but many of these children do not get enough to eat when school is out. The Summer Food Service Program is a federally funded program which provides FREE meals to children 18 years and younger.
Wakulla County has two official Summer Food Service Program sites currently in operation. One site is located at the Wakulla Education Center at 87 Andrew Hargrett Sr. Road in Crawfordville (Phone: 850-926-8111), and the other site is located at Wakulla High School at 3237 Coastal Highway in Crawfordville (Phone: 850-926-1554).
To learn more about the Summer Food Service Program, contact the Department of Education, Food and Nutrition Management at 1-800-504-6609.
