New Financial Counseling Program Offered through Wakulla County Extension

I wanted you to be aware of a new program offered through the Extension Service.   I would ask that you consider ways to utilize this free service.

In these challenging economic times the University of Florida Extension decided to partner with United Way to offer financial counseling to those desiring it.  Instead of a series of educational seminars, our approach is for a person, couple or family to have time with a trained volunteer to discuss any aspect of their finances.  A faculty member from the University of Florida came here to provide the training.  Four trained volunteers are available and we have provided space for confidential counseling here at our office.  These same volunteers are willing to do group sessions to encourage person’s involvement in the one on one counseling sessions.

We are delighted to have the volunteer pool we have… a retired banker, an educator, a business person and a CPA.  All feel this to be their unique way to return to Wakulla County what they have so richly been given.  Perhaps you will have an opportunity to share this with others.  I can’t think of anyone who would not be interested in this free counseling.

It is my hope that a year from now we will look back and know that we have made a difference in the lives of Wakulla County citizens.
