Written by Publisher, Wakulla.com Tuesday, 07 February 2012 08:22
Concerned Citizens of Wakulla County (CCOW) will host a Public Service Forum on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 7pm at the Wakulla County Public Library.
The forum topic will be Challenges Facing Wakulla County Government; Where We Are & Going".
A Pre-Forum Social and entertainment will be held at 6:30pm.
The forum speaker will be Wakulla County Administrator David Edwards.
Wakulla County is facing many challenges in these difficult economic times. County revenues are down, but demands on government services are ever present. Government must set priorities. Wakulla’s economy is much dependent on its natural environments, which acts as magnet for tourists. Because of our County’s beauty, many Capital City workers commute to make their home here. Our natural environments support our recreational and seafood industries, and the small businesses dependent on ecotourism. Balancing priorities set forth by our Board of County Commissioners within present budget limitations is a daunting challenge. Administrator Edwards will discuss with us where we are and where we are going to meet the many challenges facing our County Government.
Everyone is invited to attend and participate.
The Wakulla County Public Library is located at 4330 Crawfordville Hwy. ((US 319, 3.7 miles south of the Courthouse in Crawfordville).
