Set Sail For A Worthy Cause - Cruisin’ on the Bay Event to Support Area Girl Scouts
The Third Annual Cruisin’ on the Bay benefit event for the Girl Scout Council of the Apalachee Bend will be held on Friday, Sept. 26, aboard the Lady Anderson. Boarding begins at 6:30 p.m. with sailing from 7– 9:30 p.m. from Capt. Anderson’s Marina at Grand Lagoon, 5550 North Lagoon Drive, Panama City Beach, Fla. 32408. Guests will enjoy an evening of great food, live music and silent auction while sailing the historic St. Andrews Bay.
{sidebar id=1}A limited number of tickets are available for this exciting adult only event. Tickets are $50.00/single and $90.00/couple and are available by calling 1-800-876-9704 or at the Council office, 250 Pinewood Drive, Tallahassee, Fla. 32303. Cash, check, VISA and MasterCard are accepted.
“This event provides us with an opportunity to enjoy an evening of fun on the water” stated Raslean M. Allen, CEO of the Girl Scout Council. “Adults attending this event help to provide much needed funds to provide programs for Girl Scouts in the area. We appreciate the support we receive from the community.”
“Events such as this are vital to the continued success of our goal to build girls of courage, confidence and character,” stated Peggy Geil, Board President. “Now more than ever our girls need places to learn new skills to help them discover, connect and take action to make the world a better place.”
Proceeds from the event will be used to complete the renovations to the Bay County Service Center and provide programs to Girl Scouts in our area.
The Girl Scout Council of the Apalachee Bend, Inc., a United Way agency, serves more than 3,304 girls and 1,302 adults in Bay, Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Taylor, Wakulla, and Washington counties.
