Men's Fraternity of Wakulla Announces New Meeting Time
Men’s Fraternity of Wakulla announces a new time for their gathering. By popular request Men’s Fraternity of Wakulla will be meeting at 6:30 p.m. beginning January 10th , 2008. Many men have indicated an interest in Men’s Fraternity but have been unable to make the 5:45 a.m. breakfast meeting for various reasons, so organizers have decided to change the meeting time to one that is more suitable and convenient to those wishing to participate.
The format for the gathering will be:
Each Thursday evening:
6:30 p.m. – Supper & fellowship (financial donations for supper accepted)
7:00 p.m. – Video presentation by Dr. Robert Lewis
7:40 p.m. – Discussion, Sharing & Caring time
8:30 p.m. – Dismissal time
With the new time, it is hoped that more men will be able to attend and become a part of Men’s Fraternity of Wakulla as we pursue the journey of manhood. After all, our lives are a journey, an uphill climb, a dangerous adventure if attempted alone. Men need to be connected with other men, we need to surround ourselves with other God-fearing males, guys who can challenge us, share our struggles, help us up when we stumble, and cheer for our successes.
Men’s Fraternity of Wakulla is a group of men who support each other in our day-to-day thoughts and activities. The group meets ‘Outback’ at Cornerstone Ministries, 824 Shadeville Road (Hwy 61) 2 miles east of downtown Crawfordville. After sharing a meal and fellowship together, there’s a 45-minute video presentation by Dr. Robert Lewis, followed by a 20-30 minute small group discussion and sharing time. Upcoming topics for the video presentation and discussion will include:
• A Biblical Definition of Manhood
• A Man and his wife
• Fathers and Sons
• Fathers and Daughters
• A man and His Life Journey
Designed to be non-denominational, inter-denominational and open to all men of different backgrounds, education, vocations, financial standing, races and faiths, it is not church. It is a brotherhood of men and boys from Wakulla County who share in the Quest for Authentic Manhood. As a fraternity, they join together to support, educate and encourage one another. Through caring and sharing their talents and abilities they unite together to become better men, better husbands, better fathers and better brothers, helping friends and neighbors in need, building better families and becoming better members of our community.
Men’s Fraternity of Wakulla, though supported by area churches, is not church, it’s a layman’s ministry with pastoral support designed to work in, through and with the local church. Allowing smaller congregations the opportunity to fellowship and share with larger congregation members and those who are un-churched in a non-church setting. The ministry is designed to bring families together, not give men a place to go to get away from home.
