Guiding Good Choices Parenting Workshops to be Held

Guiding Good Choices Parenting Workshops to be Held in Wakulla

dad and kids 100.gifThe Wakulla County Coalition for Youth is sponsoring two free Guiding Good Choices Parenting Workshops during the months of August and September.  Now is the time to join other families in preparing for those critical moments that will define your child’s life.  The time and effort spent at these five 2-hour sessions are really an investment in your child’s future.  Don’t miss the opportunity.  The series will be conducted by Kate Jensen, LCSW and Jo Barksdale, MSW.

The workshops will cover different topics in five 2-hour sessions and are geared for parents of 9 to 14 year olds:

  • Being 9-14 can seem overwhelming to a child.  Be there for them...Learn what you need to know to prevent problems.

  • What you know and believe matters! How to Develop Healthy Beliefs and Clear Standards

  • Help your child learn how to say NO and keep their friends (parents attend with children).  Adolescence is a tough time, sorely testing parenting. This session is practical and will help.

  • How to Control and Express Anger Constructively

  • How to Strengthen Family Bonds. Success for your child begins at home.
