Girl Scouts will Host 16th Annual Run for the Cookies One Mile and 5K Race
The Girl Scout Council of the Apalachee Bend and Gulf Winds Track Club will hold the 16th Annual Run for the Cookies on Saturday, February 9, 2008. The Tallahassee Community College Lifetime Sports Complex, 444 Appleyard Drive, Tallahassee, will be the site for this exciting event. The Annual Run begins with the one-mile race at 8:45 AM, followed by the 5K at 9:00 AM.
{sidebar id=1}The run marks the arrival of the world famous cookies, which will be available through March 9. Proceeds from the event will provide local Girl Scouts with scholarships for exciting travel opportunities. Numerous area troops will be represented and community members will be on hand to lend their support.
Race day registration will begin at 7:30 AM. Cost is $10 for the one-mile race and $15 for the 5K. All race participants will receive a t-shirt, and 5K participants will receive a box of Girl Scout cookies.
