Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend Region Sponsors Benefit at Bookstore
From August 6 through August 12, The Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend Region (ELC) will sponsor a fundraiser at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore in the Tallahassee Mall, 2415 North Monroe Street. During this designated shopping period, a percentage of purchases will be donated back to ELC, to continue their mission “to provide leadership and advocacy that builds a community where ALL children are prepared for success in school.”
This benefit week allows supporters of the Early Learning Coalition an opportunity to contribute to its services to the community simply by shopping at Barnes and Noble Bookstore. Shoppers must present an ELC voucher when making their purchases. These vouchers are available from ELC, located at 325 John Knox Road, on the website www.elcbigbend.org or by calling Erin Harrell at 850-385-0551. For further information about this fundraiser or similar in-store charity events for Not-for-Profit Arts, Literacy and Literary Organizations, please call Toya O’Hora, Community Relations Manager Barnes and Noble at 850-383-0578 or e-mail crm2849@bn.com.
{sidebar id=1}The Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend Region serves children and families located in the seven counties that comprise northern Florida’s Big Bend: Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Taylor, and Wakulla Counties.
The Coalition strives to create a seamless system of services to better prepare children for entry into kindergarten by providing information resources to aid parents in finding quality child care, holding screenings and assessments to identify any developmental issues in children, and offering technical assistance and professional development opportunities to child care providers.
By focusing on children, families, and parents as individual parts that comprise a whole, the Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend Region is able to help build a community where all children are prepared for success in school.
