CHAT of Wakulla will Host Family-Oriented Homecoming at Wakulla County Animal Shelter
CHAT is looking forward to our upcoming family-oriented Homecoming at the Animal Shelter. We are planning a fun filled day to welcome back any of our adopted animals with their families, anyone who has ever adopted an animal anywhere, anyone who might be thinking about adopting a pet, and the general public. As we always have our hand out asking for donations, we thought it was time to thank Wakulla County citizens for being so generous and supporting the shelter for so many years.
{sidebar id=1}Please mark September 29th on your calendars for a fun day at the shelter. Our event will run from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. There will be free pony rides for the kids, free hot dogs and sodas for all, free balloons, educational materials, a teddy bear hospital to repair stuffed toys that need mending, and educational literature. The Wakulla County Public Library will have a booth, t-shirts will be for sale, and photos which can taken with your pet or on a pony will be available for a nominal fee. There will be raffle items given away every half hour, starting at 10:30 am.
We will also have dog obedience demonstrations, a bloodhound demonstration, a fire truck with pet resuscitation kits, and much, much more. As October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, we are using our homecoming as a kick-off for this event, and there will be reduced adoption fees for any animals adopted on this date.
We look forward to seeing our past supporters and anyone who might be interested in our organization or seeing our shelter, which has grown over the years to better accommodate the needs of the animals which are protected here.
