Big Bend Hospice Hosts Fourth Annual Bereavement Conference

25th anniversary logo 100.gif{sidebar id=3}Big Bend Hospice is hosting its Fourth Annual Bereavement Conference, “Grief: A Journey to Hope” on September 26, 2008 from 8:00 – 4:30 PM at the Tallahassee Community College Center for Economic and Workforce Development.  This conference is designed to provide useful information and practical strategies for professionals to use in assisting clients through the grief process. 

Counselors, Therapists, Hospice Providers, Advocates, Clergy, Educators, Nurses, Health Professionals, Emergency Services, Law Enforcement, Students, Geriatric Specialists, Military Personnel, Funeral Directors, Nursing Home Administrators and anyone dealing with grief should consider attending this important conference.  Many different topics will be explored throughout the day including Spirituality, Grief in Rural Cultures, Military Loss, Pet Loss and Loss of a Child.  A variety of grief related professional resources including books, videos, and music, will provide an opportunity to learn new interventions to use with grieving clients, and facilitate time to learn from each other’s experiences and insights.

Registration is required by September 12th and the cost of the conference is $69 with special rates for students, or four or more from the same agency.  6.5 Continuing Education Units will be offered.  Late registration after September 12th will add $10 to each category.  Contact Lisa Baggett, 878-5310, X433 to register or for more information.
