35th Annual Tallahassee Marathon will be Sunday, February 1
The
35th running of the Tallahassee Marathon will occur on Sunday, February 1, 2009. An event since 1975, the Tallahassee Marathon is the
longest continuously run marathon in the state of Florida. The event
starts and finishes at Florida State University's Mike Long Track and
connects to the St. Marks Trail.
The course is an out and back with the turnaround point on the St. Mark's Trail at Thomas Dr. just south of Woodville. This year's charity is the American Lung Association of Florida. Last year's event registered record attendance with 210 finishers in the marathon and 338 in the half marathon.
Race organizers are asking spectators to come out along the trail between 8:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on race day to support and cheer on the marathon runners coming from at least 29 states and 4 foreign countries.
