Happy 75th Birthday to Joe Ladd
The family of Joe Ladd held a birthday celebration for him this past Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Wakulla United Methodist Church in the Roland Alford Building in Wakulla Station.
Joe is a 4th generation Wakulla Countian. He was born in Newport Fl. On March 12, 1935 to the late Fred Taylor and Willie Smith Ladd. He and his late wife Marie moved their family to Wakulla Station in 1964 where he still resides.
Joe is the proud father of four daughters and their families: Lisa Ladd Mobley ( Red); Wakulla Station, Lori Ladd Cole ( Sam); Ft. White Fl., Leslie Ladd Alford ( Michael); Wakulla Station, and Leigh Ladd Lashley; ( Jeff) Crawfordville.
He has been blessed with 6 granddaughters and 2 grandsons: Allison, Sarah & Maegan Cole; Ft. White Fl,, Dani & Mikayla Alford; Wakulla Station, Caleb & Jayden Lashley; Crawfordville and Addison Mobley; Wakulla Station
He also has a sister Esther Ladd Woodward of Woodville, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was a truck driver and officially retired in 2006 after over 40 years of traveling the highways of Florida, Georgia and Alabama. He began his driving career with MR & R Trucking Company and also worked for Alterman Transport, McKenzie Tank Lines and Super Transport.
Joe loves to “Tinker” and can often be found helping a neighbor or one of his “Sons”. He has a “Special Helper” his granddaughter Mikayla who loves to “Help” Papa.
