Three Year Old Lab Mix Named Otis Looking for Home

We received this email from a reader a few days ago. He has a dog that desparately needs a home. If you can help him, please let him know! Below is the email:

I have a three year old Lab mix named Otis that I can't keep and I'm running out of options. He was originally my mother-in-law's up in rural Ohio. She was an animal hoarder, and he was one of about ten neglected dogs who lived under her trailer and then on the back porch, even in sub-freezing temps. Over the years my wife and I have found homes for several of the dogs, including his brother Alfie that we took in two and a half years ago. He is current on his shots and has been neutered.

{sidebar id=1}My wife brought Otis home 5 months ago in the hopes that we could rehabilitate him and find him a good home. Unfortunately, we just haven't had the time to devote a lot of attention to him and though he gets along well with my other dogs, he remains very skittish of humans and continues to pee on his bed, in his bowl, all over the sun room, etc. He's great with my 3 year old daughter, and he's never displayed any aggression, but he is generally scared of people and of going inside.

My wife's mom will pass away within the next month, and I'm getting ready to head up to Ohio where they are to help with the funeral, selling the house and such. We've asked those people we know who have farms if they can take him, but with no luck. He probably needs a farm or someone who can really devote a lot of time to him to get him on track if they ever want him in the house. Please let me know if you think there is anybody who may be able to give him a look. The pictures show him along with his brother Alfie. Alfie is a great dog, and I'm sure Otis could be too.
