Hello: We live in Leesburg, Florida and heard that Monarch butterflies fly in and rest in your area in the fall. We would like to visit your area and look for the butterflies. Can anyone advise where we would start to do that? Do we just drive around and look for them or do they land at specific spots. Thanks in advance for any information. Don

Good morning! Yes, our area is definitely known as the place to see migrating monarchs. One of the best places to visit is the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge; it's along the coast, and home of the historic St. Marks Lighthouse. The refuge number is 850-925-6121. The refuge hosts an annual Monarch Butterfly Festival around the time the butterflies are coming through; this year it's October 24.
