St. Marks "renovations" 4 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
I posted a letter to the editor regarding the park and boat ramp at St. Marks.
The bleachers (?) that are built literally in the River at the park. What is that about?
The boat ramp:
They made a pad, tore it up, framed out a new pad again, ruined the old dock by the old ramp, now have totally closed access and forces us to use Shields to launch if we want to have a dock to stand on while we launch.
Gas + $5 to launch, and no completion date in site.
They picked the most beautiful time of the year to close the area and have past the due date by three weeks and counting.
How much did it cost to build bleachers in the river, pour one ramp then tear it up, then form it out and pour again?
Why did they choose to do this at the peak of boating season?

I think the renovations and the revitalization program is doing wonderful things for and to St. Marks. As with anything good, it will probably take time and money to make it happen, and all this requires patience on the part of everyone. One suggestion that would probably help everybody out is to build a seawall for the inevitible storm surges that are bound to happen with any riverside community. This would protect the time and money spent for the renovations.
