Jerry Moore Announces His Candidacy for Wakulla County Commissioner District 4

jerry moore headshot.gifMy name is Jerry Moore and I am a candidate for Wakulla County Commisssioner District 4.  I am not running against anyone but am running for all the people of this great county of Wakulla.  Let me emphasize the words "all the people"; I want to bring all the people together for the good of the county.

I grew up in a small town in the great Smokey Mountains called Hayesville, NC.  The county was 5000 people and the town 500, and I lived out in the country.  Today I call it Crawfordville, North.

My family were pioneers.  My great-granddad was a Captain in the Civil War, my granddad a blacksmith and farmer, my dad a farmer and a merchant.

Hunting and fishing, camping, and basketball was my recreation.

I graduated Hayesville High, attended Young Harris Jr. College, and graduated Auburn University with a degree in Pharmacy.

I managed Sears Roebuck Pharmacy in Atlanta for 10 years, then entered real estate for 30 years.  My early real estate career was focused on residential resales.  I then moved into property management, then finance, then commercial development, and finally to investment.  Today I choose to invest in Wakulla County.

I married Virginia Dannelley of DeFuniak Springs.  We have been married for 43 years.  We have two children who graduated from the University of Georgia.  Our son David is a real estate fund director for the states of Georgia, Florida and Tennessee for a land fund out of Dallas, Texas.  Our daughter is a veterinarian in Alpharetta, Georgia and worked with Faith Hughes here in Wakulla part of one summer.

My mother-in-law, a beautiful and sweet lady, is in the nursing home at St. James Bay.  Her memory is short and sometimes not at all.  When Virginia told her mother I was going to be county commissioner for Wakulla County District 4 her answer was, "Why does he want to do that?"

Well, let me tell you why.

I am running for County Commission because we need jobs, we need jobs, we need (Moore) jobs!

We need to remove the road block at the county line, and invite business to move to Wakulla.  Business creates jobs, business pays taxes, and taxes keep the tax burden of government off the homeowners.

We need less government, less regulation, less interference in our daily lives.  When you vote for "Moore" you are going to get "less" government.

I am a businessman who loves Wakulla, the environment, the wetlands, the rivers, the forest, and the people and with your help and support and your vote I will be your next county commissioner in district 4.

Jerry Moore, Candidate
Wakulla County Commission District 4
