March Roadside Safety Checkpoints to be Held in Wakulla
{sidebar id=3}The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit will be conducting Comprehensive Roadside Safety Checkpoints during the remaining portion of March.
The checkpoints will be held from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at seven locations. The locations include: the 100 block of Bob Miller Road, the 1300 block of Wakulla Arran Road, the 2100 block of Surf Road, the 1200 block of Spring Creek Highway, the 600 block of Port Leon Drive, the 300 block of Springhill Road and the 80 block of Rose Street.
Deputies will be checking drivers for signs of impairment and observing for vehicle equipment violations, tag and license violations and verifying vehicle insurance requirements. Deputies have found that the checkpoints reduce impaired driving and ensure safe and insured vehicles are being operated in the community.
In addition, the Click It or Ticket seatbelt campaign will continue until March 15. Deputies are asking motorists to continue to observe the Florida seatbelt laws.
