Health Care the Focus of September 23 Meeting
Don’t miss the Wakulla Health Care Task Force meeting on Tuesday, September 23 at 6:00 pm at the Wakulla Library! Two important presentations are planned. Local health care providers and the public are invited to attend.
{sidebar id=1}Wakulla County Administrator, Ben Pingree, and Special Projects Coordinator, Jennifer Langston, will describe the available local option sales tax for healthcare. Representatives from Franklin and Gadsden counties, which recently passed this tax, may be on hand to describe the experiences of their counties.
Meeting participants also will learn about the new Medical Academy at Wakulla High School. Sarabeth Jones, Career Specialist, Diane Cook, lead instructor, and one of their advanced students will describe the academy and answer questions. They will look to Task Force members for career shadowing experiences and internship/externship/clinical rotation placements for their students.
Other items on the agenda will include reports on the distribution of the medical brochure for visitors and new residents, sports physicals, and more.
The Wakulla Health Care Task Force will next meet on Tuesday, October 28, then not again until Tuesday, January 27. For more information, please contact Lynn Artz at 320-2158 or Cathy Price at 926-7125 (ask for the WHS Clinic).
