Two Tallahassee residents are behind bars in the Wakulla County Jail following a crack cocaine bust in northern Wakulla County Wednesday, Oct. 10, according to Wakulla County Sheriff Donnie Crum.
Makeysha Kashield McKinney, (pictured at right) 34, and Troy Mandell Hill (pictured bottom right), 33, both of Tallahassee, were arrested on U.S. Highway 319 following an afternoon traffic stop.
McKinney was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of cocaine with intent to sell and two counts of sale of cocaine. Hill was charged with two counts of possession of cocaine with intent to sell and one count of sale of cocaine.
The WCSO Narcotics Unit conducted multiple undercover controlled narcotics transactions with the two suspects during the month of August.
On Oct. 10, investigators received information that McKinney and Hill would be coming to Wakulla County. The Narcotics Unit observed the two suspects in McKinney’s vehicle a few miles south of the Leon County line and conducted their traffic stop.
McKinney and Hill were taken into custody without incident and an inventory of the vehicle turned up crack cocaine. The crack cocaine was in a container common for street level sales. Law enforcement collected 3.9 grams of crack cocaine and other related drug paraphernalia.
Detectives observed Hill with the crack cocaine container in his possession and he was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell along with the active warrant from the undercover purchases. McKinney was not charged during the traffic stop but was arrested for the active felony drug warrants from the undercover purchases.
McKinney is being held in the Wakulla County Jail under a $200,000 bond while Hill is being held under a $100,000 bond. His bond amount for the Oct. 10 arrest is still pending.
Detectives estimated the value of the crack cocaine confiscated from the vehicle at $500.
