Three Wakulla men hauled in two large gators this past Friday night, August 17, 2012.
A 9'6" gator and a 12'3" gator was taken by Team Sopchoppy, consisting of L. B. Brooks, Josh Lawhon, and Kyle Jones. The gators were captured near the area of Shell Point and Oyster Bay in Wakulla County.
According to Brooks, he was asked to go along on the excursion with his cousin Kyle. "I didn't think that much about it when Kyle asked me go with him, so I brought Josh along with me because he had done it before," said Brooks. "But when the time came and I was face to face with the beast, it all changed! Time to pull the trigger on the crossbow- here comes the adrenaline! Wow! That was just the beginning. Then you have the death roll, bang stick, loading the beast in the boat with YOU, its all 100 percent rush! I'm hooked!"
