sobriety-checkpoint-image-187The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office will conduct DUI saturation patrols and a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday, Aug. 25.

The checkpoint will be set up on U.S. Highway 319 near the Subway restaurant and will take place from midnight to 1 a.m.  The saturation patrols will be conducted between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The national Drive Sober of Get Pulled Over campaign to crackdown on impaired drivers will start this week around the country and continue until Labor Day.  Approximately six to nine WCSO deputies will take part in the saturation patrol and the Florida Highway Patrol has been invited to participate as well.

The national campaign is sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
