As the Sopchoppy River and the Carabelle Rivers continue to flood today, residents are urged to evacuate to the Crawfordville Elementary School Shelter.

Another shelter has been put on standby in Wakulla County if the Crawfordville Elementary School exceeds 200 disaster evacuees.  All other shelters in Leon, Liberty and Taylor County are on standby to open if needed.

As soon as conditions improve in Wakulla and Franklin Counties, Red Cross will begin bulk distribution of Clean Up Kits and supplies.

“We are fortunate to have generous businesses in the Capital Area who have donated snacks and drinks for our shelters,” said Dan Samborn, CEO of the American Red Cross Capital Area Chapter.

People can help those affected by Tropical Storm Debby by making a donation to support American Red Cross Disaster Relief. Consider making a donation today by visiting www.redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.  The Capital Area Chapter is accepting donations on their website at www.tallyredcross.org.  Contributions may also be sent to your local Red Cross chapter, 1115 Easterwood Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32311.  Contributions enable the Red Cross to prepare for and provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance in response to disasters.
