In Memory of Mary Lou Harvey Carter

CarterMary Lou Harvey Carter, 80, of Crawfordville, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, C. Harper Carter, of Crawfordville.

She was an Administrative Assistant with the State Department of Agriculture.  She was a lifelong resident of Crawfordville, Florida.  She was a Christian of the Pentecostal Faith.   She graduated from Crawfordville School where she was Valedictorian and never missed a day of school.  She loved to travel and loved spending her time with family, and was an avid reader.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Crawfordville United Methodist Church.

Services will be Monday, May 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Crawfordville United Methodist Church in Crawfordville, Florida, with burial to follow at Arran Cemetery.  Bevis Funeral Home, Harvey-Young Chapel in Crawfordville is in charge of arrangements (850-926-3333 or bevisfh.com).

She is also survived by one daughter, Paula Johnson (John); two sons:  Scott W. Gaby (Julie) and Kevin R. Gaby (Kerry), all of Crawfordville; a stepson, Charlie Carter (Schlenia) of Crawfordville and stepdaughter, Hope Salas (Bookie) of TX; grandchildren:  Kimberly Johnson, Michael Johnson, Millie Bruce (Richie), Wiley Gaby, Jessica Johnson, Jenni Johnson (Larry), Crissy Wood (Marshall), Maggie Gaby, Steven Carter (Josi), Kevin Gaby, Kane Gaby, Hailey Salas and Tyler Salas; and eleven great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her father, Riley A. Harvey, who died in 1957 (and never a day passed that she did not think of him); and her mother, Clara C. Harvey; brother, Homer Harvey and sister, Virginia White.
