The Sarah Mac Band will perform at Posh Java in Sopchoppy on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 8pm.
Described as, “jazzy, bluesy, rock with a healthy dose of soul,” the trio includes Sarah Mac, (lead vocals, guitar, keyboard), Claire Swindell, (bass and vocals), and Charlie Vanture, (guitar and vocals). This powerful group of musicians has developed a strong following throughout the South, and has become a popular band among audiences wherever they perform.
Based in Tallahassee, Mac, Swindell and Vanture joined together in early 2005 aspiring to create original music that blended their unique styles; an engaging combination of blues, jazz, and acoustic rock; that has been classified as both Americana and Alternative.
Sarah Mac’s vocals encompasses the full power and grit of Janis Joplin, the sweet, soothing breathy tone of Feist or Edie Brickell, and the gut-wrenching raw tones of an old soul or gospel singer. Paired with Vanture’s intricate, sultry guitar and Swindell’s intriguing bass lines, this trio will leave you wanting to hear more. Compared to musicians like Cheryl Crow, Adele, Ingrid Michaelson and Joan Osborne, the band brings a live, raw energy that must be experienced to be fully appreciated.
Contact Posh Java at (850) 962-1010 or email poshjava@gmail.com for reservations. Posh Java is located at the corner of Rose Street and Winthrop Avenue in downtown Sopchoppy.
