John E. Probert, 84, passed away Friday, December 2, 2011 in Tallahassee, FL.

He was born in Sioux City, IA and has been in this area 21 years.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.  He served in both the United States Army and United States Navy.  He was an educator.  He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, a past member of Wisconsin Civil Air Patrol and he also worked with the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 7077 Bonneval Road, Suite 610, Jacksonville, FL 32216.

Memorial services will be Monday, December 5, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at Bevis Funeral Home, Harvey-Young Chapel, Crawfordville, FL.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. prior to services.  Bevis Funeral Home, Harvey-Young Chapel in Crawfordville (850-926-3333 or bevisfh.com) is in charge of arrangements.

He is also survived by daughters:  Anne Stuckey (Phillip) of Mequon, WI and Debra Schweitzer (Gary) of Johnsburg, IL; and sons:  John Probert, Jr, of Wheeling, IL and David Probert, of DeFuniak Springs, FL.  Nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
