Sammie Dixon, President and CEO of Prime Meridian Bank contacted his good friend, Major Alan Lamarche of Plantation Security, Inc. and told Alan that he had a very special little boy that wanted to go fishing on Friday.
Sammie said that Prime Meridian Bank Consultant, Al Forrester, was coming into town from Atlanta on business and he was bringing his 6 year old son, Ben. Lil' Ben's dream was to go salt water fishing.
They all loaded up in Alan's boat and headed out in the Bay. Lil' Ben was so excited that he could hardly contain himself. Fishing in about 15' of water with light tackle, Lil' Ben caught and released about 20 Sea Bass, 2 Cobia, several Lady Fish a flounder and an 18" trout. Ben's father Al, caught a bunch of Sea Bass, one Cobia, a flounder and a huge Stingray that was also released.
Sammie and Alan kept busy taking off and releasing fish. The guys brought home several of the biggest Sea Bass and a Flounder for supper. Alan said that taking kids fishing is the most rewarding experience in his life. "Watching those little tyke eyes grow and hearing kids squeal with excitement is far more fun than catching fish myself".
