Raymond E. Love, 82, of Ochlockonee Bay, Florida, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011.

He was a longtime area resident and was a member of Panacea Full Gospel Church.  He joined the Tallahassee Fire Department in 1951 and retired January 29, 1985 as District Fire Chief.  He was President of Wakulla County Volunteer Firefighters; Chief of Ochlockonee Bay Volunteer Fire Department and instrumental in implementing the 911 Emergency Systems in Wakulla County.  He was a very avid outdoorsman.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bevis Funeral Home, Harvey-Young Chapel in Crawfordville.

Services will be Friday, March 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Crawfordville.  Burial will follow at Tallahassee Memory Gardens in Tallahassee.  Bevis Funeral Home, Harvey-Young Chapel in Crawfordville is in charge of arrangements.  (850-926-3333 or www.bevisfh.com)

He is survived by his wife, Clara Shuler Love, Ochlockonee Bay.  Two sons; Mike Love (Karen) of Tallahassee and Don Love (Juliacarol) of Tallahassee.  One daughter, Karen Love Day (Bill) of Ochlocknee Bay.  Sister, Irene Winburn of Tallahassee.  Eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Ronnie Love, Grandson, Stephen Love, Brothers, I.G. Love, Y.J. Love and Benny Love and sister, Bessie Ward.
