In Memory of Frances Eleanor Payne

Bevis-logo-200Frances Eleanor Payne, 84, of Sopchoppy, Florida, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2010 in Sopchoppy, Florida.

She was born in Arcadia, Florida and was a resident of Sopchoppy, Florida for 32 years coming from Dunedin, Florida.  She was a medical assistant for Dr. James Freeman in Clearwater, Florida, and a Girl Scout leader in Dunedin, Florida.   She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post in Crawfordville, Florida and the Sopchoppy Homemakers.  She also volunteered at Sopchoppy Elementary School., and was a homemaker.  She was of the Protestant faith.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Bevis Funeral Home/Harvey-Young Chapel in Crawfordville 850-926-3333.  Graveside services will be held Friday, September 3, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at West Sopchoppy Cemetery in Sopchoppy, Florida.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years Charles Payne of Sopchoppy, Florida; two daughters:  Bunny Dutton of Dunedin, Florida and Marie “Tink”Adams and husband Tony of Clearwater, Florida; a brother-in-law:  Joseph Payne of Springhill, Florida; two sister-in-laws:  Gelette Bronson of Sopchoppy, Florida and Alva Davis of Port Richey, Florida; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased in death by a brother:  JC Cothern; a grandson:  Seth Adams; and a son-in-law:  Wally Dutton.
